labor update...

Hey all...Jordan here...we've been in the hospital since about 9am this morning.  As of now Elizabeth is in great spirits (thanks to a little friend they call "the epi")...before then it was a different story.  She started having pretty serious contractions around 10am which progressively got worse and worse.  Around 4pm they put the epidural in and we had quite the scare.  The baby didn't react too well and his heart-rate plummeted.  Elizabeth quickly became the most popular mom-to-be in the hospital as about 6 nurses and a few doctors rushed the room and started talking a bunch of crazy hospital talk.  Thankfully Eliz didn't really understand what was going on...her blood pressure had dropped quite a bit and they had an oxygen mask on her.  I just sat there and prayed  :)  isn't it nice that we have the True Power and the Great Physician in whom we can rely, rather than man and his wisdom.  Praise God the baby began to slowly recover and got back to a place where they were comfortable with moving on.  After all of that the nurse said that the baby was facing the wrong way which was probably the reason that Elizabeth hadn't made much progress from a dilation perspective.  They have done a few things to try and get the baby to turn over, but nothing has changed yet.  Everything will work out though...Eliz has been quite the trooper and in true Elizabeth fashion has us all laughing with her witty humor.  Her family has been here at the hospital from the start...they've got quite the crowd out in the waiting room and have come in to visit a couple of times.  That's all for now...hopefully the next post will include some pics of our new son!
